Cambodia immigration experience on Bangladeshi passport complete real travel guide 2025

Cambodia Immigration

Many people plan to travel to Cambodia but are worried about the immigration process. This blog is to tell you what the experience can be like, especially for Bangladeshi passport holders.

I am visiting the Royal Palace Riverside in Cambodia. The environment, people, food, service here are all really amazing. This experience will be very useful for those who want to travel to Cambodia very soon, especially on a tourist visa.

Why is Cambodia convenient for travelers?

One of the most amazing and convenient things about Cambodia is that you can withdraw dollars directly from the ATM machine here. Just like we insert our card into the ATM booth in Bangladesh or Thailand and withdraw money, in the same way, dollars can be easily cashed out in Cambodia. As a result, you do not need to carry a lot of cash with you, and travel is safer and more hassle-free. Seeing this convenience, you can understand how easy and friendly the country has created for tourists.

It is important to know that there are some restrictions in Cambodia immigration

Many people have the impression that only Bangladeshis are asked more questions at Cambodia immigration. But in reality, I saw that travelers from almost all countries are being thoroughly checked. Only Chinese citizens are asked relatively few questions and cleared quickly.

I myself gave an interview at the immigration counter for about 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes. However, all my documents and information were prepared in advance, so even though the interview was long, there was no major problem. My passport showed that since I have traveled to almost every country in Asia, including Japan, except the Philippines, I was able to complete immigration relatively naturally.

Even after coming to Cambodia, there are some immigration restrictions, and many people think that these are only for Bangladeshis. But in my experience, I have seen that travelers from almost all countries are subject to quite strict scrutiny. Only Chinese citizens are allowed relatively easily. So before leaving, I thought that if I was asked any questions, I would show everything clearly. That is why I had prepared everything in advance, including paid hotel bookings, what I do, where I will stay, and my income source. While standing in the immigration line, an officer asked me to go to another officer. He looked at my passport and asked why I travel only in Asia. I explained that I have less time due to work or business, that traveling in Asia is easy, flights are short, and food and drink are not a problem. He then looked at my monthly income statement, whether I have employees, and the live CCTV of the office. I also showed him my business website, from where I get clients. Finally, when I showed him some pictures of my family, he smiled and said, “Okay.” After that, I passed through immigration without any further problems.

After immigration, since I would be here for three days, I bought a SIM for 5 dollars with 30 GB data, where 4.5G and 5G speeds are available. Then I took a ride for just $5 and went to a hotel 10 kilometers away. The whole thing seemed very easy and budget-friendly. I took a hotel next to the Royal Palace. The area is very beautiful, especially the view is amazing. If someone has time here for a week or 10 days, then they should definitely visit the village side. Their village side is really beautiful. For those who are single travelers, the environment is safe and everything is cheap. In terms of food, Bangladeshi or Indian food is easily available. Fish and meat are all like our country.

I would definitely recommend those who travel to Thailand to visit Cambodia. If you want, you can also come by bus from Thailand by road, which reduces the travel cost even more. I have not yet spent even $50 in three days here. Everything including food, SIM, transportation is really budget-friendly. The hotel rent here is also very low, and excellent rooms are available for $10 to $12. Overall, traveling to Cambodia was a very easy, cheap and enjoyable experience for me.
